Today’s Pondering~Pinpointing my location…

I heard something on a podcast today that hit me so fully that I nearly fell out of my chair. This has been a time of great contemplation for me, as I’m sure it has been for others. As I sit here every day, scrolling through and gathering data and bits of wisdom, I have begun to formulate a brand new world view. I’ve always been big on justice and fairness. I’ve always hated materialism and excess for the sake of excess. I’ve always hated those who feel it is their duty to keep us “peasants” in line. And I’ve been trying to figure out how my worldview fits into the things I do each day to try and fight against these affronts to my not-so-delicate nature. In listening to Russell Brand’s podcast today, I heard his guest say something so profound that I immediately snapped to attention and said, “Yes, you’re absolutely right!” He said, “If you don’t emerge from the bunker, it’s a tomb.” The guest was Bradley Garrett, author of the book, “Bunker: Building for the End Times.

“If you don’t emerge from the bunker, it’s a tomb.”

Since I’ve been feeling as though I am holed up in a bunker of sorts; attempting to gather resources in case things go more wrong than they already have, his words were well-received and gave me reason to reconsider the way I’ve been functioning these days. The thing is, I’m anti- just about everything right now. I do not believe the vaccine is effective or safe. I do not believe masks are effective or necessary. I do not believe our last election was fair and fraud-free. I do not believe that our current administration is acting in our best interests. I do not believe our media is reporting accurately and impartially. And I no longer believe that our entertainers are all great people. I’ve seen and heard so much that would convince me otherwise, and I’ve been preparing myself for a knock-down-drag-out battle between the forces of good and evil. I do believe that God is in control. I do believe that there is a spiritual agenda in the works. I do believe that there are some good people out there who are being vilified because they aren’t going along with the current narrative. I do believe that there is a small group of people who are working very hard to keep people from hearing and seeing the truth. I also believe that there are many people out there who are in their bunkers, waiting for the right time to emerge and finish the battle.

Whether you’re in an actual bunker or an emotional/spiritual/psychological one, you are gearing up for something. But if you fail to come out and actually do something with all of that preparation, then you may as well be in a tomb. The statement made by Garrett reminded me of something I learned a long time ago in church; the idea that God pours into His children day after day in hopes of preparing us for the battles we will face. And after a while, if He continues to pour into us, but we refuse to pour any out by taking appropriate action, well…then what is the point? We can be filled to the brim with great blessings, but if we just hold those blessings in and never do anything with them, then we’re no better than an empty corpse.

So, I’ve decided today that I will no longer hide out, waiting for the best possible time to spring forth and do all of the great things that God wants me to do. Today, I will be the woman God created me to be. I will speak when I need to speak. I will move when I need to move. I will fight when I need to fight! And I will never again question whether or not I will survive all of these slings and arrows being thrown about by the enemy. We know from scripture that the devil has already lost the battle, we are just playing out the roles that God has given us until the day comes when God can reach down and cast that beast into the lake of fire. And that day IS coming! Make no mistake. All of this evil will not prevail and one day, we will see all of our efforts to do God’s will are going to bear fruit. As long as we don’t spend all of our days simply preparing for the right time to take a stand.

This is where I am right now…but God willing, it is not where I will stay.

My name is Rebecca Benston. I’m a Christian. I’m a woman. I’m a mother. I’m a writer. I’m a thinker. When I write fiction, I am usually writing a mystery series called The Rona Shively Stories. My P.I. character, Rona Shively is feisty, fearless and fabulous and is usually caught up in something she doesn’t want to be caught up in. In addition to this series, I also have a blog called Higher Ground for Life. Through this blog, I’m hoping to reach women or anyone who is seeking to develop a relationship with God and give them inspiration to get out there and follow His path for their lives!
I also have a blog called Leading the Follower. This one is my favorite. I write about religion, faith, spirituality and all that goes along with it. What we believe, what we don’t believe, what we are told to believe and how society feels about believing in general. I do a lot of testifying here and some of what I say may make you angry. Most of it will make you think. Some of it will make you cry. Any of it could make you laugh. It’s really up to you.

If you are looking for practical advice, honest conversation, and no nonsense observations about living in today’s world, check out my blogs at http://highergroundbooksandmedia.com and http://www.ronashively.wordpress.com and http://www.highergroundforlife.wordpress.com and http://www.leadingthefollower.wordpress.com. And if you’re so inclined, you can purchase my books and some other great, inspirational works from Higher Ground Books & Media at http://highergroundbooksandmedia.com.

Be blessed!
